The concept for ‘Handy’ originated from the experience of fumbling for a light switch in the dark.Many of us have experienced the struggle of finding a light switch in the middle of the night. But what if our fumbling behavior could actually turn on the light? This simple and intuitive approach would make lighting up in the dark much easier. This bedside light allows users to turn it on by simply swiping the surface while fumbling, without struggling to find the switch.
With an IR proximity sensor, it becomes possible to detect nearby objects in the dark. When an object(hands) gets close enough, the sensor triggers the activation of an LED at the corresponding position without physical contact.
